Uploading From a Web URL
Overview: The following tutorial is a step by step guide on how to upload images into your account from a web URL.
Requirements: You must be a Photobucket account holder. You must be using a web browser that supports javascript and has javascript enabled. You can enable javascript in your browser's settings/preferences/options, or refer to the blog post here for instructions.
Steps to Take:
- Log into your Photobucket account at http://www.photobucket.com

- From the navigation bar at the top of your album, select the "albums & upload" tab.

- Navigate to the album you would like to upload your image into. Check the "web URL" box from the right side of the uploader.
Note If you are using the "Old" uploader, simply click on the "web url" tab to access this feature.
- You can select a default upload size from the "more options" link. This will allow all subsequent uploads to adhere to the selected size. However, choosing an option from the drop-down menu will allow for one-off sizing control.
Note: For additional controls such as the ability to scramble filenames, click on the "more options" link.

- Browse for, and copy, the web URL for your favorite image. To copy the URL simply highlight the information and then right click (ctrl+click on Mac) and select "copy".
Note: Supported image file types are jpg, jpeg, gif, png and bmp (bmp will convert to jpg on upload). SWF files can currently only be uploaded as an image if you are a PRO user.

- In the "paste web URL here" field, simply right click (ctrl+click on Mac) and paste the URL that you had copied.
- Click on the "add more" link if you would like to increase your uploading capacity to up to 20 web URLs at a time.
- Click on the "Upload" button when you are ready to proceed. This will start the uploading process for your web URLs.

- The "Upload" button will switch to "Uploading..." when your web URLs begin to upload. This may take longer depending on the size and quantity of the images, and the speed of your internet connection.

- When the URL has successfully uploaded, a message will appear at the top of your page that says "x of x image has uploaded!"

- Your image is now available in your Photobucket account for sharing and linking around the web!
