Linking an Image to eBay Description Field

Overview: The following tutorial is a step by step guide on how to link images into your eBay auction 'Description' field.

Requirements: You must be a Photobucket account holder. You must also have a registered eBay account.

Note: This tutorial is for the 'new' eBay form. If you previously used the 'old' eBay form, that is currently still available and works as it always has. There is a link on the first Sell page that allows you to use the 'old' form.

Steps to Take:
  1. Log into your Photobucket account at http://www.photobucket.com
  2. From the navigation bar at the top of your album, select the "albums & upload" tab.
  3. Find an image in your Photobucket account that you would like to link to your eBay auction 'Description' field. Highlight the check-box that is directly below the thumbnail image.

Note: You can select more than one image this way to generate multiple codes at once.

  4. Click on the 'Generate HTML & IMG Code' button at the bottom of your Photobucket album.
  5. Left click in the 'HTML clickable thumbnails...' or 'HTML images...' field to copy the appropriate code. Using these codes will allow your images to be in compliance with eBay's guidelines.

Note: Click on the preview button to see how the image will appear after it has been linked to eBay.

  6. Open up a new browser tab (or browser window) and sign into your eBay account. Set an auction up to sell your item, and fill out all appropriate fields. Locate the 'Description' field and click on the 'HTML' link that is next to the Standard tab.
  7. Paste the code from your Photobucket image into the 'HTML' field.
  8. Complete any additional information that is required in order to sell your item. Your image will now display in your auction.
Note: You can link a Photobucket slideshow to your auction by copying the 'HTML Tag' code for it and pasting it into the field as indicated in Step 6..
