Uploading with Windows XP Publisher

Overview: The following tutorial is a step by step guide on how to upload content to your Photobucket account using Windows XP Publisher.

Requirements: You must be a Photobucket account holder using Windows XP.

Steps to Take:
  1. First, you must have the Windows XP Publisher changes installed on your computer. Click here to make the necessary system registry changes to allow the Windows XP Publisher to directly access your Photobucket account.

Don't forget to open and run this file after it has been successfully saved to your computer!

  2. Locate and select the file (or files) that you would like to upload to your Photobucket account.

Note: Uploading video is not currently supported when using Windows XP Publisher. Supported image file types are jpg, gif, png, bmp (bmp will convert to jpg on upload), swf files. SWF files can currently only be uploaded as an image if you are a PRO user.

  3. On the left hand side of the Windows 'Explore' window, select the 'Publish the selected items to the Web' link.

Note: If you do not see a menu like this, you may be viewing things in Classic mode. If that is the case, you will need to close the folder view first.

  9. You will need to check your 'Uploading Options' in your Photobucket account to make sure that you end up with the desired image size. Your Photobucket options should be set equal to or higher than the Windows XP Publisher settings if you choose to use this option.

Note: If you do not wish to use the Windows XP Publisher resizing options (you are using your Photobucket options instead), please un-check this box at this time.

  10. Your images will now be transferred, and the progress meter will indicate the status of your upload. When your upload has been completed, the following message will appear, giving you the option to open Photobucket. Select the 'Finish' button if you would like to go to your Photobucket account at this time.

Note: Uncheck the box prior to selecting 'Finish' if you do not want to automatically log into your Photobucket account.
