Linking to MySpace Blog
Overview: The following tutorial explains how to link an image to your MySpace blog.
Requirements: You must be a Photobucket account holder and a registered MySpace user. You must already have images uploaded into your account.
Steps to Take:
- Open the Photobucket site at http://www.photobucket.com
Enter your username and password at the top of the page, then click the log in button to log into your Photobucket account.
- Select the albums & upload button from the menu at the top of your album.
- Locate a file that you would like to link to your MySpace blog. You will be using the "Direct Link" code in this tutorial. Left click in the "Direct Link" field. This will automatically copy the code for you, as denoted by the yellow "Copied" message that pops up.
Note: If your "Direct Link" code is not visible, you can enable it from your "account options" or by clicking on the "change link options" hyperlink under the first thumbnail in your album.
- Open up a new browser window and log into your MySpace account. From the top left corner of your MySpace page, select the "Manage Blog" link.
- Under the "My Controls" section on the left hand side of your page, select the "Post New Blog" link.
- From the "Body" section of the blog editor, select the picture icon from the options bar.
Note: This method will only work for images. If you are trying to link a slideshow or video to your blog, please use the "If you can't input your Blog, click here." link. This will allow you to copy the HTML Tag code for your slideshow, or video, and have it appear in your blog. This will also allow you to use the HTML Code to embed images as well.
- In the "Enter Image URL" field, paste the "Direct Link" code into the field.
- The URL for your image will now appear. Please make sure to delete
the extra "http://" that was copied over from your Photobucket image.
"http://" should only appear once in this dialog box. Select the "OK"
button when you are done.
- Your image will now appear directly in the "Body" field of your blog editor.
- Continue adding images and information to this page! Don't forget to save all of your changes in order for them to take effect on your MySpace blog.
