Deleting Media

Overview: The following tutorial explains how to delete one or many files from your Photobucket account.

Requirements: You must be a Photobucket account holder. You must already have content uploaded into your account.

Steps to Take:
  1. Open the Photobucket site at http://www.photobucket.com

    Enter your username and password at the top of the page, then click the log in button to log into your Photobucket account.

  2. Select albums & upload from the menu at the top of your album.
  3. Click the delete link directly above a thumbnail to delete that file, then click OK. Your file is deleted.

    OR

    Check the box(es) for the file(s) that you want to delete.

    OR

    If you want to delete all the media in your album, click the view all link at the bottom, and check the select all checkbox. This method is NOT recommended if you have more than a few hundred images in the album.

    Important! Make sure you have a backup of your content on your personal computer. Photobucket cannot restore images after they are deleted.

  4. Click the Delete Selected button at the bottom of the page. A confirmation message displays.

    Important! When you delete files, any direct links, slideshows, and remixes that use the deleted files will break.

  5. Click OK to delete your selected file(s).
  6. You can also delete a file:
    • Click a thumbnail in your album to open the full-view page, then mouse over the media, and click delete.
    • Click the Organize icon at the top right of any album page. Choose the album at the left, select an image, and click the delete icon. See Organizing Your Media for details.
