Creating a Group Album

Overview: The following tutorial explains how to create group albums within your Photobucket account. A group album is an easy way to allow multiple people to upload and share from a central location. Group albums may be useful for sporting events, concerts, family get-togethers, reunions, or anything else really. The possibilities are endless!

Requirements: You must be a Photobucket account holder in order to create group albums.

Steps to Take:
  1. Open the Photobucket site at http://www.photobucket.com

Enter your username and password at the top of the page, then click the log in button to log into your Photobucket account.

  2. Select the group albums button from the main menu of your Photobucket account.
  3. On the creation page for group albums, you will need to fill in all of the necessary information.

1.) Group album name - Enter a name for your group album and select a category that it falls into. Entering a category is optional, but if will help to identify your content if you would like for it to be 'featured' at some point.

2.) Add a custom URL - Adding a custom URL will make your group album easier to find for your guests and contributors. This is optional, though. You can also decide to add your group album to your 'favorites' list that will display in your main Photobucket album for easier access!

3.) Viewing Rights - Decide who can view your group album. Anyone can view a 'Public' group album, however, you can also set it to 'Private' and add a password for additional control.

4.) Contributing Rights - Decide who can add files to your group album. Contributors can either add files instantly, or you they will have to be approved by the group owner first. You can also decide to receive an email notification when new files are added to your group by a particular contributor.

Note: Most of these options can be changed at any time by clicking the Group album options link in your group album.

  4. Invite people to your group album by using this form. If you do not wish to do so at this time, click the Skip this step button. You will always be able to invite people at a later time.

Important! The From field in this form uses your registered Photobucket email address. If your email address is not correct or out dated, please update it from your account options prior to sending emails.

  5. On the left side of your group album, you will have some additional controls.

URL - If you added a custom URL during the group album creation process, it will be populated in this field. Click the edit link to change or remove that at any time, or you can add a new one from here if you have not already done so.

favorites - If you chose to add your group album to your Photobucket favorites, this area will indicate if it has already been added. Click the remove link to remove or rename your favorite at any time. You can also add an album as a favorite from here if you wish.

Who's added stuff? - Here you can see any Photobucket user who has contributed content into your group album. You can also invite people to your group album at any time by clicking the Invite people button as well.
