Adding Effects and More!
Overview: The following tutorial is a step by step guide on how to add effects and other decorations to an image that has been uploaded into your Photobucket account. Photobucket is proud to announce an integration with FotoFlexer.com in order to provide our users with a robust image editing tool!
Requirements: You must be a Photobucket account holder and have content currently uploaded into your account.
Note: Currently, this functionality only works for images.
The image editor is driven by javascript and flash technologies. If you are having difficulties accessing the image editor, please refer to some trouble-shooting tips that can be found in our FAQ here.
Steps to Take:
- Log into your Photobucket account at http://www.photobucket.com
- From the navigation bar at the top of your album, select the "albums & upload" tab."
- Click on the thumbnail, or the "edit" link for the image that you would like to add effects to.
- Click on the "edit image" button located above the full size image. This will take you directly into the image editing tool.
- At the top of the application you will have a number of tabs to choose from that will allow you to edit and manipulate the image to your liking!
- To make a selection, simply click on one of the icons. The "Effects" tab contains some fun ways to colorize and modify your image! Some tabs may have a "More" button to allow you to see additional options as well. Some features may also provide an option for "Advanced" settings for an additional level of customization!
- Within the "Decorate" tab, you can add cool stickers, text, thought bubbles, as well as inserting your face onto a preset image among other things!
- Make a selection from the "Decorate" tab to see your available options!
Note: Use the "undo" button to cancel the last action you made. You should be able to undo at least several layers of modifications. Want a better view of your image? Use the sizing slider to blow your image up for finer detailing!
- In order to save your changes and go back into your Photobucket account, click on the "Save" button that is below the preview for your image.
- You will have the option to either "Overwrite existing image" or "Save a copy." Overwriting the existing image will save the changes to the original file in your album, essentially replacing it with the new one. Saving a copy of your image will create a new image in your account with the modifications that you have made to the file. This option is strongly recommended if you wish to keep your original in tact.
After making this selection, your file will be saved and you will be taken back into your Photobucket account.
- Your newly created masterpiece is now ready for linking and sharing around the web!
