Cropping Images
Overview: The following tutorial explains how to crop an image that has been uploaded into your Photobucket account. Photobucket is proud to announce an integration with FotoFlexer.com in order to provide our users with a robust image editing tool!
Requirements: You must be a Photobucket account holder and have content currently uploaded into your account.
Note: Currently, this functionality only works for images.
The image editor is driven by javascript and flash technologies. If you are having difficulties accessing the image editor, please refer to some trouble-shooting tips that can be found in our FAQ here.
Steps to Take:
- Open the Photobucket site at http://www.photobucket.com
Enter your username and password at the top of the page, then click the log in button to log into your Photobucket account.
- Select the albums & upload button from the menu at the top of your album.
Note: You can also select the edit images button from the menu and go right into the image editor.

- Click the thumbnail, or the edit link for the image that you would like to crop.

- Click the edit image button located above the full size image. From the list of options on the drop down menu select crop. You can still get to the cropping options by clicking on any link from this menu, however.

- Once inside the image editor, the option to crop your file can be found in the 'Basic' tab. Information at the top of the screen will explain how to crop your image.

- Select an area of the image that you wish to crop into by dragging a selection box around it. After your selection is made, you can grab the green squares in order to further refine the area. You can also right click (ctrl+click on Mac) once the selection box has been made in order to view additional options.

- When you're ready to apply the crop, click the Crop Selected Area button from the top of the screen. This will be in the same location as the information from Step #5.
- When you are ready to save your changes and go back into your Photobucket account, you will have the option to either 'Replace original' or 'Save a copy' of your image. Replacing the original image will save the changes to the original file in your album, essentially replacing it with the new one. Saving a copy of your image will create a new image in your account with the modifications that you have made to the file. This option is strongly recommended if you wish to keep your original in tact.
After making this selection, your file will be saved and you will be taken back into your Photobucket account.
