Overview: Photobucket is proud to announce that we are now offering the ability for our users to "tag" their uploaded images! So, what exactly is tagging ? Tagging is a way to uniquely define an image as a whole, or it can be used to describe a specific section of an image. Think of it like a title, but it's part of the image and has the ability to show up when linked off of Photobucket so it can be viewed by all of your friends and family!
You might be curious about how you can use a tag to define your images. For example, say you and your three best friends are in a photograph together on a vacation in the Bahamas. Not only can you tag the entire image as "The Bahamas," but you can add a tag around each of your friends to show their names directly on the file itself. A viewer can see the tags added to the image by moving their mouse pointer slowly over the image. Each tag will display as the mouse passes over that section of the image.
Additional features of tagging includes associating an email address with a particular tag, as well as linking a web URL to the tag. Going along with the example above, if you decide to link your friend's email address with their tag, we will send them an email notifying them that they have been tagged on Photobucket! You can also link a particular tag to a web URL so that by clicking on that tag in Photobucket or off-site, you will be taken directly to that website!
Requirements: In order to tag images on Photobucket you simply need to have a registered account. You can tag any image (only images at this time) that currently exists in your album, or any image that you are planning on uploading!
