Linking Tagged Images to MySpace Profile
Overview: The following tutorial explains how to link a tagged image from Photobucket to your MySpace profile. A tag is text that uniquely identifies an image or section of an image. Each tag can be up to fifty (50) characters in length, and up to twenty (20) tags can be added to an individual image. Tags are only available for image files at this time.
Photobucket tagging gives you the unique ability to share tagged and linked images across social networks and the Web. When tagged images are displayed on Photobucket, embedded onto other sites or shared by email, viewers of those images can see the tags, click on links, and also find more images with the same tags on Photobucket.
Requirements: You must be a Photobucket account holder and be using a web browser that supports javascript and/or a web browser that has javascript enabled.
You must already have created tags in your account.
If you do not have an account with Photobucket, you can sign up here.
Steps to Take:- Open the Photobucket site at http://www.photobucket.com
Enter your username and password at the top of the page, then click the log in button to log into your Photobucket account.
- Select the albums & upload button from the menu at the top of your album.
- Click on the thumbnail for the tagged image that you wish to link to your MySpace profile. You can also click on the "edit" link directly above the thumbnail.
- At the bottom of the code index on the right side of the fullview page you will see the "Embed Code." Copying this code to link your image will allow all of your tags and URLs to display on your file when you link it to your MySpace profile.
Note: This is the ONLY code on Photobucket that will allow your tags to appear when linked. You can only access this code from the fullview page as well.
- Open up a new browser window, or tab, and log into your MySpace account. Click on the "Edit Profile" link.
- Paste the "Embed Code" that you copied from Photobucket into any field that accepts embedded HTML code.
- Your "Embed Code" will now display in the MySpace profile editor field that you selected.
- Your image will appear with all mouse-over tag functionality that was embedded in it on Photobucket.
