Linking Tagged Images

Overview: The following tutorial explains how to link a tagged image from Photobucket to your favorite website. A tag is text that uniquely identifies an image or section of an image. See What is Tagging for details.

Requirements: You must be a Photobucket account holder and be using a web browser that supports JavaScript and/or a web browser that has JavaScript enabled.

You must already have created tags in your account. See Getting Started with Tags for details.

Steps to Take:
  1. Open the Photobucket site at http://www.photobucket.com

Enter your username and password at the top of the page, then click the log in button to log into your Photobucket account.

  2. Select the albums & upload button from the menu at the top of your album.
  3. Click a tag name in the Tags panel on the left side of your album. Your tags display in the panel in alphabetical order.
  4. Locate the Flash Code below the thumbnail image for the file you want to link.

Note: You may have to move your mouse over the media to display the codes. See How do I control the linking codes that display in my album for details.

The same code is available on the full-view page in the Share this image panel.

  5. Click in the field that contains the code that you want to use. If the Photobucket one-click copy is active, the yellow "Copied" box displays when you click on a code. If the yellow "Copied" box does not display, manually copy the code.
  6. Navigate to the place where you want your image to display, such as a forum, message board, email, instant message, etc. Paste the code into the appropriate field.

Note: Websites, message boards and forums are all different, so you may need to consult their Help or FAQ documents for further guidance on the codes they support.
