Viewing, Removing & Editing Tags
Overview: The following tutorial explains how to view and remove tags from your Photobucket account. A tag is text that uniquely identifies an image or section of an image. Each tag can be up to fifty (50) characters in length, and up to twenty (20) tags can be added to an individual image. Tags are only available for image files at this time.
Photobucket tagging gives you the unique ability to share tagged and linked images across social networks and the Web. When tagged images are displayed on Photobucket, embedded onto other sites or shared by email, viewers of those images can see the tags, click on links, and also find more images with the same tags on Photobucket.
Requirements: You must be a Photobucket account holder and be using a web browser that supports javascript and/or a web browser that has javascript enabled.
You must already have created tags in your account.
Steps to Take:
- Open the Photobucket site at http://www.photobucket.com
Enter your username and password at the top of the page, then click the log in button to log into your Photobucket account.
- Select the albums & upload button from the menu at the top of your album.
- The easiest way to view tags that you have already created is to click on a tag name from the 'tag friends in this album section on the left side of your album. Your tags will appear in alphabetical order here.
- If you would like to see other public tags with the same name as yours, click the See more public images link.
- You will see a thumbnail version of all of the images in your account with the tag name that you clicked on. Click the thumbnail for additional details about your tag.
- Beneath your image on the full-view page you can view all of the tags that you have already created for that particular image.
- If you have linked a URL to a tag, click view link to be taken to that website.
- If you would like to remove a tag from your image, click the remove link.
- If you would like to add more tags to your image, click the click to add tags link.
- To see your tag on your image, mouse-over the area where you created it.
Note: If you had added a URL to your tag, click directly on the tag name to be taken to that website.
- You can also view and remove tags from any 'bulk tagging' page on the site.
- If you would like to view, edit, and delete your tags from one central location, click the edit link that is associated with the tags side bar.
- Click the pencil/edit icon if you would like to rename your tag, modify/remove the associated email address or modify/remove the URL information for your tag.
Note: Updates will appear on all images with the tag. If you update the email address, no email will be sent until you use this tag again.
- Click the trash can/delete icon if you would like to remove the tag from your file.
Note: Deleting a tag will remove that tag from all images in your albums. It will not remove any images.
