Tagging From Fullview Page

Overview: The following tutorial is a step by step guide on how to tag an image from the fullview page of your Photobucket account. A tag is text that uniquely identifies an image or section of an image. Each tag can be up to fifty (50) characters in length, and up to twenty (20) tags can be added to an individual image. Tags are only available for image files at this time.

Photobucket tagging gives you the unique ability to share tagged and linked images across social networks and the Web. When tagged images are displayed on Photobucket, embedded onto other sites or shared by email, viewers of those images can see the tags, click on links, and also find more images with the same tags on Photobucket.

Requirements: You must be a Photobucket account holder and be using a web browser that supports javascript and/or a web browser that has javascript enabled.

If you do not have an account with Photobucket, you can sign up here.

Steps to Take:
  1. Log into your Photobucket account at http://www.photobucket.com
  2. From the navigation bar at the top of your album, select the "albums & upload" tab.
  3. Tags can be added by clicking on the "tag" icon directly above your image on the fullview page.
  4. Tags can be added by clicking on the "tag this image" button directly below your image on the fullview page.

Note: This option will only appear if no tags currently exist for the particular image.

  5. Click on the photo to begin the tagging process. When you click on the photo a marquee selection tool will appear over your image. You can change the size of this box and drag it to any location over your image that you wish.

Note: You can only have up to 20 tags on an image at any given time.

Note: If you have multiple tags on an image, they will be layered according to the size of the tag-box that you original created. Largest in the back, smallest in the front.

  6. Type a name for your tag in this field.

Note: If you wish to import a contact from one of the listed email carriers to use as a tag, simply click on the appropriate button.

  7. If what you are tagging is a person, enter their email address here and we'll send them a link to your image!
  8. If you would like to make your tag clickable and link it to a website, enter the URL here. In order to ensure that your link will work, please make sure you follow the URL example that is found beneath this field.
  9. When you are satisfied with your tag, click on the "save tag" button.
  10. Your tag will now display on your image when you mouse-over the area where it was created.

Note: If you had added a URL to your tag, click directly on the tag name to be taken to that website.

  11. You can view all of the tags that you have added to your image here. If you had added a URL to your tag, you can view it here. If you wish to remove your tag click on the "remove" link. You can add more tags by clicking the "click to add tags" link, or simply click on a different location on your preview image.
  12. After you are finished tagging your image, click on the "done tagging" button to be taken back to the fullview page.
