Creating a Remix

Overview: Remix with Adobe Premiere Express is a new editing tool that will allow you to combine images and video with graphics, captions, borders, transitions, music, and other effects by dragging and dropping content to a timeline. This tutorial will walk you through creating a Remix from within your Photobucket account.

Requirements: You must be a Photobucket account holder and have already uploaded content into your account.

Steps to Take:
  1. Open the Photobucket site at http://www.photobucket.com

Enter your username and password at the top of the page, then click the log in button to log into your Photobucket account.

  2. Select the create remix button from the menu at the top of your album.

Note: The remix will be saved into the album that you are in when selecting the 'create remix' button.

  3. Please take a few minutes to go over the 'Quick Start' Notes. You can choose to view the automated demo, or read the Table of Contents by clicking on the 'home' icon on the top left corner of these notes. If you want to get right to remixing your content, click the 'X' on the top right corner!

Note: These "Quick Start" notes will always be available from the "Help" menu, as seen in Step 4.

  4. The 'Help' button, at the top right of the video Remix application, is available if you would like to access the Remix 'Quick Start' notes, or the Table of Contents at any time.
  5. On the left side of the Remix application, you will be able to browse for content in your main album, or any sub album that you may have created.
  6. From the categories below your content, you can add text and stickers, borders, music and transitions to your Remix.

Note: You can add multiple borders to your Remix by toggling the tiny square button at the bottom left corner of the scene window. By default, the option is set to apply the border to all scenes, but by unchecking this option, you can add different borders to as many assets as you wish! You can add multiple graphics and text layers on a photo or video clip.

  7. Drag your content into the preview window to get started! If the content that you added is an image, you will be able to adjust the slider for how long the image should display in your Remix (default is 3 seconds). If the content added is a video, this slider will allow you to 'trim' your footage if you would like only a certain part to display.

Unfortunately, there is currently no way to 'scale' the size of an image within the Remix application. Make sure to upload your image to a particular size, or resize it inside of Photobucket, before using it here.

Note: You can clip the video at multiple points and re-order them in your timeline by using the 'scissors' icon.

  8. The timeline will give you a visual representation of the content that is currently added to your Remix. Feel free to drag and drop content to change its placement on the timeline. You can also add or delete content here as well

Note: The small rectangle between the thumbnails is where transitions will show up if you have chosen to add them from the 'Transitions' category.

  9. From the 'Music' category on the right, simply drag and drop a particular audio track to add to your Remix.

Note: If you have a video file with audio already in your Remix, adding an audio track here will replace the audio in the video file with the selected audio clip.

  10. Click the Publish button when you are ready to save the Remix into your Photobucket album. Don't forget to add a title!

Note: If you happen to navigate away from your Remix before publishing it, don't worry! The next time you come back to Remix, you will be asked if you would like to load the previously auto-saved remix, or discard it and start a new one.

  11. If you would like to edit your video remix after it has been published, click the Edit Original Remix button at the top of the page.
Remixes are limited to 20:00 minutes in play length for both Free and Pro accounts.
