Search

Overview: The following tutorial explains how to search for content using the Photobucket "Search" feature.

Requirements: Search functionality is available to both account holders and non-account holders.

1. Choose the type of content you want to search using the drop-down in the search field. You can search images, videos, group albums, the web, and Photobucket users. If you are logged in, you can also search your own album.
2. Enter a search term or terms in the Search field on the Photobucket main menu.

   Note: Use the words AND, OR, or NOT in your search to narrow it down even more.
   

3. Click Search after you enter a search term. The search returns the total content that was found. You can:
   • Click Follow to receive notification when new content is added for your image or video search term.
   • Click view [name] album to view a Photobucket user’s public album with the same name as your keyword.
   
4. Click the pagination at the bottom of the page to view additional content.
5. Click any thumbnail to see the full-size view of the content.
6. For images and videos, you can:
   • Click share to share the media via email, or to a social networking or blogging web site.
   • Click view album to view the Photobucket user's album where the content is located.
   • Click copy to my album to copy the media into your Photobucket account. When you copy to your album the original file is copied into your album. In other words, this content will not be "linked" to your account.
   • Click add comment to comment on the media.
   • Click on the stars to rate the media.
   For images only, you can:
   • Click zoom in to expand the content if the image is not displayed at full-size. If an image displays at full-size, zoom in does not display.
   • Click edit to add stickers, text, and effects. When you save the image, it saves to your account.
   • Click download to download the image to your computer.

     Note: If download and copy to my album do not display, the media owner has set their account options to disallow copying. See Changing the Album Settings in your Account for details.

   • Click send to phone to send the image to your mobile device to use as wallpaper. See What is send to phone for details. This feature is only available to users in the United States.
   
   
7. Click the arrows to move back and forward in the search results in the full-size view. Click more results to return to view more content that falls within your original search criteria. When you click content in the search results box, it displays at full-size.
